Welcome to Timberwood Paws!We are located in Cincinnati, Ohio. We fell in love with the Shiba breed and wanted to help with the preservation of the standard here in the US in 2019. Since then, we’ve learned to show our shiba in AKC Conformation shows, and have educated ourselves on health issues within the breed. We test our Shibas hips eyes and patellas to ensure they do not have hip dysplasia, glaucoma, or luxating patellas.In 2023, we found and fell in love with the Finnish Lapphund breed. We have added a champion titled female to our home with the help of an amazing mentor! Our mentor introduced the breed to America and helped it to be recognized by AKC through a ton of hard work and dedication. We absolutely fell in love with this breed when we wanted something a little more clingy than a Shiba, but not quite as much as a Velcro dog as a golden retriever. They are great with children and so incredibly smart, however this is still a spitz breed and therefore a bit stubborn.Our dogs are bred with hopes of always keeping back a puppy for show in our kennel. No litter is perfect (just like no dog is perfect), so we keep the best prospective one and put the remainder of the litter in to pet homes. This would be with limited AKC registration. I do ask for a reasonable deposit to secure your puppy until I meet you in person and you pay your remaining amount. Puppies go home at 8 weeks old. You will receive pictures, videos and/or live video calls throughout the 8 weeks. There is a health guarantee and a spay/neuter agreement that will be sent to you via DocuSign after your deposit is paid.All of my breeding dogs are AKC registered, OFA certified or had preliminaries completed, and Embark DNA tested.
